Will AMTA 2022 be in-person or virtual?
AMTA 2022 in Westminster, CO (Denver) is being planned as an in-person event. The committee understands there may be some members that may be unable to attend due to travel restrictions. As such, plans are being made to allow remote viewing of the technical sessions and to allow authors to participate virtually. Please note that in-person attendance is encouraged and expected for all able. Concessions will only be allowed on a highly restrictive basis.
Is there a “go/no-go” cutoff date for when AMTA 2022 will decide to proceed with or postpone the 44th Symposium?
No, there is not a cut off/decision date. As we proceed in planning for the in-person event October 9 – 14, 2022, in Westminster, CO (Denver). The Westin Westminster and the AMTA 2022 Host Committee will be continually monitoring all the reporting from the recognized and authoritative sources listed below for the most accurate, up-to-date information on the pandemic.

How many people will be able to attend the 44th Annual AMTA Symposium?
We anticipate the total number (e.g., in-person Symposium attendees, exhibitors, support staff, etc.) to be near 400 persons. As conditions evolve, there may be opportunities to adjust those numbers, but the AMTA Board of Directors and the AMTA 2022 host committee remain committed to the health and safety of every symposium participant.
Will international attendees be allowed to attend this year’s program?
International visitors are anticipated for the 44th Annual AMTA Symposium, but all travel into the United States will be governed by existing rules and directives of the U.S. government regarding the entry of foreign visitors into the country. If travel from those countries into the United States is allowed, they will be warmly welcomed at the AMTA 2022 Symposium.
Will there be virtual access for persons to participate in the AMTA 2022 Symposium program and its presentations?
AMTA 2022 is being planned as an in-person event. The committee understands there may be some members that may be unable to attend due to travel restrictions. For those that meet the criteria, technical sessions will be available live, and authors will have the opportunity to submit prerecorded presentations of their paper. If you feel you meet this criteria, please email host@amta.org, each request will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
If I am unable to travel due to a COVID constraint (e.g., COVID-positive, COVID-exposed, restricted by government/company), will I receive a full refund?
In the event a registrant is unable to travel to attend the symposium, they will be allowed access to the live content; a full refund of purchased event tickets and a refund of 50% of the event registration will be issued. The host committee will require evidence of the restriction.
What happens if the AMTA 2022 symposium is cancelled?
AMTA has policies in place that govern what steps are taken in the event the symposium is cancelled, not just due to Covid. Some of the options open to the Board of Directors include but are not limited to, rescheduling the event, relocation of the event, refunding the participants. A firm decision cannot be made in advance as the steps available can and will change based on when the cancellation occurs. The Board of Directors will always make decisions based on what is best for the membership.
Will social distancing be possible at the AMTA 2022 Symposium?
The AMTA 2022 Host Committee has been working with the Westin team to comply with all public health and safety protocols to ensure the safety of every symposium participant. That includes social distancing and other health and safety protocols. Attendance numbers in select rooms will be limited to ensure social distancing and other safety compliance. An overflow room has been designated for remote viewing of the technical sessions, if needed.
Will AMTA require attendees to be vaccinated to attend Symposium?
Vaccinations are not required. AMTA encourages its 44th Annual AMTA Symposium attendees to be vaccinated and continue to practice COVID-19 mitigation practices accord to State, Local and hotel policies.
Will there be any health screening at AMTA 2022?
No. Currently there is no screening required. AMTA 2022 encourages all attendees to monitor their own health. If symptoms of any illness are observed we ask attendees to not travel, or if already at the symposium restrict attendance and seek medical testing or attention.
Will there be rapid testing and contact tracing of attendees during Symposium?
There will be no on-site rapid testing at AMTA 2022. We will assist locating off-site locations for persons to access such testing if needed.
Are there sponsorship opportunities available for AMTA 2022?

How many exhibitors will be at AMTA 2022?
Exhibitor registration is open. We anticipate a full exhibit hall of more than 35 booths.
Will there be limits placed on the number of people allowed on the exhibit floor and at presentations?
Working with Westin team, the AMTA symposium will comply with all public health and safety protocols to ensure the safety of every symposium participant. Depending on the room and location of the activity, attendance numbers may be limited to assure safety.
What type of direction/guidance has the State of Colorado and the City/Public Health Department given to allow the AMTA 2022 Symposium to operate this year’s symposium in this environment?
The AMTA 2022 Host Committee continues to work closely with the Westom, Local, and State authorities to follow all public health and safety guidance to ensure a safe and successful symposium.
What type of precautions will The Westin and AMTA have in place to mitigate the risk of coronavirus exposure?
Currently, in accordance with applicable regulations and local policy, mitigation includes hand sanitizing stations, social distancing and mask requirements. All event spaces will be cleaned nightly and common touch points will be regularly sanitized.
What else is The Westin doing to mitigate risks to guests and attendees of the AMTA Symposium?

How will food service be handled with social distancing protocols in place?
Food and beverage service provided by the Hilton will adhere to all safety and health protocols put forward by Federal, State and Local authorities.
When will registration for AMTA 2022 open?
Attendee registration for the in-person 44th Annual AMTA Symposium will open early July 2022. AMTA will send an e-mail to all current AMTA members announcing the official registration date. For persons wanting to participate in the Symposium virtually, please email host@amta.org.
Can I transfer my registration to someone else?
This can be considered on a case-by-case basis.
When will the lodging site open?
Reservations may be made at any time until September 23, 2022. Venue details and the registration link can be found at https://2022.amta.org/location/.
Who will be on the agenda for this year’s Symposium program?
The agenda for AMTA 2022 has not been officially released. We anticipate sharing the names of keynote speakers and technical sessions in the coming weeks. Attendees and interested persons should visit https://2022.amta.org/ for regular updates.
Will boot camp or a short course offered at AMTA 2021?
A Short Course is being planned as a live event on Sunday October 9, 2022.
